Sumner Bank & Trust opens GIVING MARKET

GALLATIN, Tenn.—October 6, 2009- Sumner Bank & Trust announces the opening of the “The Giving Market” within all three Sumner Bank & Trust neighborhood branches.  The Giving Market is a retail store complete with merchandise available for purchase.  The total sale price of each item is donated directly back into the community.

One hundred percent of the sale price of store items within the store is placed in a fund designated for local non-profits in Sumner County.  Funds are held until calendar end at which point they will be distributed.   Distribution is based on applications received.  Non-profits interested in proceeds, may complete a SB&T Giving Back Application located in the bank’s website at www.sumnerbankandtrust.com  under the link SB&T Giving Back and return it to the bank’s main office located at 780 Browns Lane, Gallatin, TN 37066.

The Giving Market offers a wide array of items for purchase including hand-crafted birdhouses -made locally by H.A.T.S, unique umbrellas, designer bowls, event chairs, gardening bundles, hats, shirts, shopping bags, sport bottles and more.   All merchandise has a suggested retail value; however, all donations are welcome.

Sumner Bank & Trust has been testing the concept since May 2009.  Since May, SB &T customers and friends have donated just over $1000 to the Sumner Bank & Trust Giving Back fund through the purchase of merchandise.

Mike Cook, President of Sumner Bank & Trust explained, “I have been amazed by the level of support we have received from our customer and bank friends for this program.”  Cook continues, “It is a true testament to this community and how willing we are to help our neighbors. “

Sumner Bank & Trust was organized in 2005 as a locally owned community bank dedicated to serving the financial needs of individuals, families, and businesses in Sumner County.    Sumner Bank and Trust is staffed by experienced, community-focused bankers dedicated to offering the highest level of customer service and the latest technology to meet the expectations of their clients.
